Paquime Indian Bi-National Loop Tour

The Mimbres-Paquime'Connection (MPC) is a stunning two-day to two-week bi-national driving excursion that weaves through two countries. The tour reconnects the historic and cultural relationship between southwestern New Mexico and Northern Chihuahua, Mexico.

This self-guided tour is anchored at the Gila Cliff Dwellings north of Silver City, New Mexico. Tourists have the option of traveling down the scenic mountain drive on Highway 90 to Lordsburg, or driving on Highway 180 east to Deming. From Lordsburg the driving tour continues down to the border crossing at Antelope Wells, New Mexico and south into El Berrendo Mexico. South of the community of El Berrendo, visitors can see the unparalleled pottery of pre-Hispanic Mimbres and Casas Grandes cultures in Mexico and venture through the various Mexico municipalities through Janos, Ascencion, Los Trios, Palomas and back up into Columbus and Deming, New Mexico.

Visitors can tour the museums, archeological sites, hot springs and be thrilled with the fantastic diverse scenery, birds and wildlife, pottery exhibits, hot springs and other sites as you take the loop through the two countries where the Paquime Indians once lived.
